At Iridescent, events play a critical role in serving our program participants as well as raising awareness of our programs to the outside world to bring in new partners and potential funders. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with event management experience to assist with various Iridescent events in the Bay area.

As Special Events Manager, you will:
Lead recruitment events such as Technovation launch workshops (25 people audience), Technovation Regional Pitch Event (200 people) and World Pitch (800 people). This would include identifying suitable venues, creating invites, tracking registrations, organizing all event logistics and supplies, and execution of the events.
Work collaboratively with corporate engagement, marketing, and fundraising team to plan and execute our key events and make sure the success of the events is captured and documented.
Coordinate logistics for Technovation World Pitch week including communication with participants from across the globe. This includes: booking flights, making hotel arrangements, securing transportation, and organizing program events and itinerary for the week.
Manage corporate engagement and individual fundraising events in partnership with fundraising team throughout the year.
Skills and Qualifications:
Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area
Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and relevant experience
3-5 years experience in event planning and project management
Building and maintaining relationships with corporate and community partners
Experience leading cross-functional teams (ie marketing, fundraising, partnerships) to ensure goals are achieved
Experience organizing travel logistics, venues, and/or catering for large groups of people
Organized, detail oriented, and dependable, with a customer service orientation
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work with diverse people, organizations, communities, and cultures
Strong communication and writing skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a small and virtual team
Willingness to learn and adapt
Innovative thinker and self-motivated team player
Passion for improving educational experiences and outcomes for youth around the world
