The Legal team is responsible for managing the legal affairs of the company, including providing legal counsel across the organization, handling disputes, and creating and enforcing intellectual property. The Corporate Communications team manages our internal and external communications with key stakeholders including investors and financial analysts, global media, and our employees around the world.
Please Note: We are open to remote candidates located in Pacific or Mountain time zones. For remote candidates, travel to our San Diego HQ will be required periodically (once every 1-2 months).
Let’s talk about the team and you: As Manager, Corporate Communications – Social Media & External Comms, you’ll be an integral member of ResMed’s global Corporate Communications team, which is responsible for promoting ResMed’s mission, achievements, and brand reputation to all external and internal stakeholders; and inspire positive actions on behalf of each target audience.
You’ll help strategize and execute a variety of comms plans related to promoting the life-changing products and services we offer, general disease awareness, and more. Roughly half your time will be dedicated to managing ResMed’s global social media strategy and execution. You will work closely with ResMedians across business units and geographies – including executives – as well as other members of the Corporate Communications team. While it’s preferred the Manager live in the San Diego region (ResMed’s headquarters), the chosen candidate could work from anywhere within the continental U.S.
Let’s talk about responsibilities:
Create and/or manage communications plans related to various key aspects of the company (e.g. product and service innovation, disease awareness campaigns, executive thought leadership, medical research, partnerships, public affairs initiatives, crisis management, and more.
Lead planning and execution of ResMed’s global social media strategy, including:
Updating the global strategy as needed to optimize ResMed’s social media objectives
Writing, gathering, and publishing content on ResMed’s global pages (e.g. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Glassdoor) at frequencies broadly accepted as best practice to optimize reach and engagement on each respective channel.
Creating and gathering images for global posts (with local adaptations, as needed)
Maintaining a global-level editorial calendar of events and priority messages to support both global and regional content efforts
Identifying, gathering, analyzing, and reporting key metrics and trends
Oversight and management of other social media managers and contributors across the organization
Recommending next courses of action/changes to the overall strategy based on these findings
Manage ResMed’s external editorial calendar, and share editorial content and relevant trends with other members of the Corporate Communications team to support their functions (i.e. Internal Comms, Branding)
Collaborate closely with executives, marketing/sales leads, and business owners to both advise on comms strategies and deliver on them.
Coordinate comms agency activities (e.g. social media)
Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
Let’s talk about qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or other relevant degree. Will accept experience in lieu of a degree.
Minimum 5 years of experience in external communications, media relations, digital or social media marketing, or related field
Excellent written and oral communication skills including editing, social media writing, presentation, independent research, and persuasion (both with coworkers and consumers/customers)
Experience managing professional social media pages, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram, and strong working knowledge of best practices for content and community management
Ability to manage and motivate junior-, manager-, and executive-level colleagues
Travel as needed for the role, with approximately 5-10% (Domestic and International)

Equivalent combination of experience and/or education may be considered
B2B and B2C experience
Ability and experience producing live and recorded video for social consumption
Experience working in the medical device field or equally regulated life science industry
Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud or other graphic design tools
