Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site seeks a strategic, dynamic, and agile individual to become the President and Chief Executive Officer.   Operational from 1829 until 1971 and recognized for its grand architecture and strict discipline, Eastern State Penitentiary was the first world’s true ‘penitentiary,’ a prison designed to inspire penitence, or true regret in the hearts of prisoners.  At its completion, the building was the largest and most expensive public structure ever erected in the United States, and quickly became a model for more than 300 prisons worldwide. Its valued, sky-lit cells once held many of the America’s most notorious lawbreakers, including bank robber ‘Slick Willie’ Sutton and Al Capone.   Today, the site is a museum and is a U.S.
